QUI EST CAT POWER ?

Cat Power

Cat Power est en fait l'auteur-compositeur-interprète Chan Marshall. Au début des années 90, elle se retrouve à New York où elle se produit sous le nom de Cat Power. Elle rencontre Steve Shelley, batteur de Sonic Youth et Tim Foljahn de Two Dollar Guitar. Le trio signe en 1995 l'album Dear Sir puis, l'année suivante, What Would The Community Think?. En 1998, il enregistre Moon Pix puis, en l'an 2000, The Covers Record qui ne contient que des reprises. 3 ans passent avant que Cat Power nous revienne avec l'album You Are Free. En 2006, elle livre un best of intitulé The Greatest.
